Room of the Nile

To the south is the Room of the Nile, 13 1/3 cubits long and 4 cubits wide. Its door opens on to the above-mentioned hall (Great Hall) and gives access to the Pure Corridor. Its walls are decorated with ritual scenes depicting the water libations and the spells for blessing them, which takes place there.

About the Room of the Nile

The Room of the Nile is one of three utility rooms of the Temple, the other two, the Ointment-Workshop, and the Treasury. It is so-named for it stores cool water taken from the Pure Well. It has two doors, one leading to the Great Hall, the other leading to the Pure Corridor. W'abw would bring water from the Pure Well. Then, make a circuitious route of the Treasury, Room of the Nile, via the Pure Corridor, and the Great Hall. The W'abw would sprinkle the pure water on this route, thus creating a pure barrier from the outer portions of the Temple. Room of the Nile, then stores cool water for the purest inner shrines..
